Thank you for making the Summer Food and Activities Program a Huge Success!
Another day on a the tropical island of ….Days Creek??
Student volunteers, community kids and even some die hard vollyball campsters joined the Days Creek Summer Food Program end of the year Luau. From the looks of things you would think that Days Creek was the place “TO BE” last Friday, and yes it was!
The Summer Food program was a huge success due to our Summer Teen Associates (Coral , Jenni and Belle ), who received commendations from UCAN/Vista for their volunteer work. Coral and Jenni both put in more than 64 hours of volunteer time, while Isabelle (only a 6th grader!) put in 34 hours running activities for young kids and making sure the enthusiasm was top priority! Thanks also goes out to the AMAZING Parent volunteers.
Would you like to be a Summer Associate Next year? Upon completion of the service you will recieve a letter of recommendation from UCAN/Vista, a certificate of volunteer hours and a T-Shirt! I think the teens would agree that the best reward was working with the kids and knowing they were making a difference in a child’s life.
